The Western Colorado Contractors Association has scheduled its annual benefit obstacle race for May 10 at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway.

The race, dubbed the Gauntlet, will begin at 9 a.m. with heats every 20 minutes. The 5-kilometer race will feature a hay bale climb, pipe crawls and tire obstacles as well as mud pits. Proceeds will go to Special Olympics of Western Colorado.

Admission for participants age 12 to 17 is $25 through May 7, $30 afterward. Admission for participates age 18 and over is $45 through May 7, $55 afterward. The event also is open to teams of four. To register or obtain more information, log on to www.TheGauntletRace.com.
