An annual benefit event in Palisade featuring fine foods, wines and spirits has a presenting sponsor in an international corporation that sells spirits.
Rémy Martin will sponsor Edesia, set for March 18 at the Wine Country Inn. While best known for its cognacs, the company sells a variety of other beverages. The company will showcase its California wines and single-malt whiskey.
“We are excited to have such a prestigious company whose products are known worldwide join us in presenting Edesia,” said Jerome Strack, general manager of the Wine Country Inn and coordinator of the event. “Their presence will take Edesia to a whole new level and offer wines and spirits that will complement those that are produced locally.”
Named for the Roman goddess of fine food and wine, Edesia features foods prepared by invited chefs and beverages poured by Rémy Martin and Colorado wineries. Edesia also features hourly demonstrations by a celebrity chef.
Tickets sell for $49 each at the Wine Country Inn and online at www.edesiapalisade.com.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Marillac Clinic, which provides health care services to uninsured Mesa County residents with low and moderate incomes. Last year, Edesia raised $7,000 for the clinic.
“Because there is such an explosion of interest in food and wine pairings, we expect a larger number of guests this year,” Strack said. “Our guest vendors will present only their best because they are showcasing their own culinary skills, fine wines and spirits.”
