Builders earn awards at parade of homes

Five builders won awards presented as part of the Housing and Building Association of Northwestern Colorado Parade of Homes in the Grand Valley.

Porter Homes won the Judge’s Committee Award for a home priced below $550,000, while Maves Construction won the same award for a home priced above $550,000.

The criteria included floor plan, kitchen, landscaping and master suite as well as the craftsmanship, creativity and innovation reflected in the home.

Maves Construction also won the People’s Choice award for a home priced above $550,000. G.J. Gardner Homes won the People’s Choice Award for a home priced below $550,000 as well as an award for best interior decor.

Wilco Enterprises won the Judge’s Choice Award for best overall remodeling project. Davidson Homes won the HBA Membership Award for using the most HBA members as subcontractors in constructing the home.

“We had a fantastic parade this year, and every builder did an exceptional job,” said Traci Weinbrecht, executive director of the HBA. “We heard rave reviews from parade goers in every home.”
