The Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway in Grand Junction, received an award for operational excellence from the National Cemetery Administration on April 7.

In 2025, the Grand Junction cemetery participated in a biannual compliance review by the National Cemetery Association. An independent team of experts determined the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado met or exceeded key targets in management and operational areas, earning it the award.
