Business exec named chairwoman of March for Babies

A Grand Junction business executive has been selected as chairwoman of an annual March of Dimes fund-raiser.

Jessica Jackson-Morris will serve as chairwoman of the 2013 March for Babies, set for April 27 at Lincoln Park in Grand Junction. Jackson-Morris is  chief executive officer of Maid 2 Impress, a commercial cleaning company.

“My work with March of Dimes is a real honor,” Jackson-Morris said. “March for Babies gives everyone in the community the chance to work together for stronger, healthier babies and make a difference in the lives of millions of babies. I can’t think of a more important cause than healthy babies.”

Terri Jones, division director of the Western Slope March of Dimes, said she’s “thrilled” with the selection of Jackson-Morris. “I know she will bring the same drive, dedication and passion that made her a well-respected member of the community to her efforts on behalf of March for Babies. Her contribution will go a long way to making this year’s event a huge success.”

Last year, the Western Slope March for Babies raised $130,000. The goal for 2013 is $140,000.

The March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality. To register for or obtain more information about the March for Babies, visit the website located at www.marchforbabies.org.
