Businesses join in children’s book drive

Local businesses and organizations will collect donations of new and gently used children’s books as part of a drive organized by United Way of Mesa County and Executives Partnering to Invest in Children.

Donations will be accepted through April 30 at Alpine Bank locations, American Furniture Warehouse, Bank of the San Juan locations, Bellco Credit Union, Caprock Academy, CSL Plasma, Enstrom Candies locations, HopeWest, Mesa County Department of Human Services, Rocky Mountain Health Plans and United Way of Mesa County.

United Way plans to give away the books to children at an event set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11 at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.
