Businesses participate in animal shelter fund-raiser

Grand Valley businesses plan to once again participate in an annual fund-raising campaign for the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Throughout October, people can purchase paper “paws” for $1 or more at participating businesses, including All Pets Center, Alpine Bank locations, Bestslope Coffee, Chow Down Pet Supplies, Coronado Liquor Mart, Hot Tomato Cafe & Pizzeria, and Loco Food Stores.

All donations from the Dollars For Dogs and Cash for Cats campaign will go to Roice-Hurst. The nonprofit organization operates an animal shelter and adoption center that promotes bonds between pets and people through adoptions, educational activities and pet behavior counseling.
