Chamber awards businesses for expansive efforts

A total of seven Grand Junction businesses and organizations have been honored for expanding operations and staffing.

The businesses were recognized at a quarterly meeting of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce for cumulatively investing more than $8 million and creating 75 new jobs.

Sam’s Club was honored for investing $6 million and adding 30 jobs to its store in Grand Junction.

Edgewater Brewery was honored for investing $450,000 and adding 10 positions to its operation.

The Redlands Mesa Golf Club was honored for investing $123,000 and creating 15 new jobs.

Maves Construction was honored for expanding its staff by 12.

The Law Offices of Kain & Burke was honored for a capital investment of $150,000 and two new jobs.

Gelu Italian Ice was honored for a $65,000 investment and creating five new positions.

The Western Slope Center for Children, a child advocacy center based in Grand Junction was recognized for a nearly $1.4 million investment and one new job.
