EmTech, a company that has completed a new distribution center in Grand Junction, tops a list of eight local businesses honored for expanding their operations and staffs.
The businesses were recognized at a quarterly meeting of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce for cumulatively investing nearly $6 million and creating more than 200 jobs.
EmTech recently completed a 10,000 square foot warehouse that will serve as a distribution center for electric motors, generators and pumps. The facility also will serve as a the new rental and warehousing location for EmTech’s Rocky Mountain Standby Power Division, which provides services in a four-state region that includes Colorado as well as New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
Emtech invested $1.7 million in the project and created eight new jobs.
EmTech also operates offices and facilities in Craig and Denver.
The other businesses honored at the chamber meeting were:
StarTek for an expansion that involved $140,000 investment and created 130 new jobs.
Columbine Ford in Rifle for a $3 million expansion that created 23 new jobs.
Grand Valley Events Party Rentals for investing $850,000 and creating four new jobs.
First Light Home Care for creating 40 new jobs.
Fidelity Mortgage for a $50,000 investment and creating nine new jobs.
The Express Employment staffing service for creating three new jobs.
And Grand Valley Magazine for creating one new job.
