Chamber honors companies for expansive efforts

Four Western Colorado companies were honored for expansions involving a total of nearly $8.6 million in capital expenditures and the addition of 14 jobs.

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce presented the companies with expansion awards at its latest quarterly membership luncheon.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park was recognized for an expansion involving $8 million and three jobs. The park in Glenwood Springs replaced its tram with a gondola and buried utility lines. The new gondola, manufactured and installed by Leitner-Poma in Grand Junction, features 44 detachable cabins that move continuously.

Freeway Bowl in Grand Junction was recognized for a $300,000 expansion that included new equipment and a new scoring system as well as one new employee.

Fisher’s Market in Grand Junction was recognized for a $250,00 expansion and the addition of 10 jobs. The company has partnered with Indulgence Catering to offer customized catering services and menus.

Saucy Lulu in Grand Junction was recognized for an $8,500 expansion of the catering and carryout food business.
