Chamber honors expanding businesses

Eight Grand Valley businesses were honored for expanding their operations, making a total of more than $6.3 million in capital investments and creating 41 jobs in the process.

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce recognized the companies during its latest quarterly membership luncheon.

The Grand River Mosquito District was honored for opening a new operations facility in Grand Junction at a cost of $4.1 million and creating seven new jobs.

Lewis Engineering made $1.5 million in capital investments in its operations to meet growing demand and expanded its staff by six.

Absolute Prestige Limousine continued its expansion with $420,000 in capital investments, while Olsson Associates invested $150,000 in its Grand Junction operations. Capitol Business invested $150,000 and created two new positions.

Visiting Angels added 16 people to its staff, while Atlasta Solar added five and Amos Counseling added two.
