Chevron has donated $16,500 to support a Western Colorado Conservation Corps college scholarship program.
“This donation will enable eight corps members to obtain higher education,” said Trevor Wickersham, director of the WCCC. “Without these funds, educational opportunities for our corps members would be very difficult.”
Cary Baird, a community engagement representative with Chevron, said, “Chevron places a high priority on education so that everyone has an opportunity to fulfill their potential and dreams. We also understand that many young people face barriers and hardship in getting their education. The Conservation Corps is instrumental in helping them develop skills and opening doors to the future.”
Chevron supports WCCC as well as Mesa County Partners, including the annual Thanks for Giving dinner hosted by Partners in November.
