Chief information officer joins HopeWest

Brian Hoag has joined HopeWest based in Grand Junction as chief information officer.

Hoag is responsible for using technology and information systems to improve productivity, integration and communications.

He brings to his duties experience in health care and hospices, most of that in leadership roles for organizations across the United States.

“Technology enables us to spend more time with patients and less time documenting care, to communicate with other staff to create a seamless care experience and to connect with additional resources that patients and families may need,” Hoag said. “Technology at HopeWest really allows us to deliver the highest level of care to our community.”

Christy Whitney Borchard, president and chief executive officer of HopeWest, said Hoag’s knowledge and experience make him a valuable addition to the leadership team. “Having Brian enhance our technology and information systems will enable staff to focus on what’s most important at HopeWest, and that’s caring for individuals coping with serious illness and their families.”

HopeWest operates an in-patient hospice center in Grand Junction and also provides hospice, palliative care and grief support services in five Western Colorado counties. For more information, call 241-2212 or visit the website located at www.HopeWestCO.org.
