Class to cover the financial steps to home ownership

Housing Resources and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage will present a free homeownership class in Grand Junction.

The two-hour class is set for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Garden Village Community Building, 2601 Belford Ave, and open to the public.

The class will teach participants about a number of financial steps toward home ownership, including personal spending plans, setting up and maintaining savings goals, credit cards, credit scores and using banks.

“We are excited to offer these classes,” said Jani Hunter, a housing counselor with Housing Resources. “In keeping with our mission, we want to educate the public on what it takes to own a home and encourage responsible home ownership. Knowing your own finances and how they work is a big piece of the puzzle.”
