Kimberly Williams has joined Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction as executive director of marketing.
Williams manages marketing, public relations and publication projects for CMU. She succeeds Rick Taggart, a former corporate executive who had served as director of marketing since 2010. Taggart retired, although he plans to continue to teach at the university.
Williams was hired following a national search.
“Kim’s unique mix of professional experience and leadership in our community made her the perfect candidate for this position,” said CMU President Tim Foster. “She’s the right person at the right time to develop creative ways to tell the CMU story.”
Williams brings to her new duties more than 13 years of experience as director of marketing and public relations at St. Mary’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center. She also worked for Rocky Mountain Health Management Corp., worked as an advertising and marketing consultant and ran her own advertising agency.
“It is very exciting to join Colorado Mesa as it continues to thrive in so many ways,” Williams said. “I hope to bring some new ideas and perspectives to the university in support of its ongoing growth in rigorous academic programs, outstanding faculty and student enrollment.”
