CMU students vie in business competition

Sixteen students from Colorado Mesa University are expected to compete in a national academic business competition by virtue of their performances at a state leadership conference.

The Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lamba national competition was scheduled to start June 24 in Nashville, Tenn.

CMU students qualified for nationals while earning 33 awards at the FBLA-PBL conference in Denver in competitions testing their skills in accounting, decision making, ethics, finance, job interviews, marketing and public speaking. 

Bonnie Masters, president of the CMU chapter, received the Who’s Who in PBL award for Colorado in recognition of her contributions to the organization at the local, state and national levels.

In addition to Masters, CMU students qualifying for nationals are: Taylor Brantley, Heather Brown, Jack Carter, Michael Eldridge, Mike Gerken, Anthony Hammond, Russell Hector, Amelia Higgins, Nick Keitlen, Jordan Lehr, Kathryn Oshiro, Lizeth Reyes, Caity Ross, Anthony Wilson and Pete Zollner.
