Robin Stevens, co-owner of Peterson Plumbing in Grand Junction, has joined the board of directors of Hope of the Grand Valley.
“We are thrilled to have Robin on our board and know that her business savvy and commitment to community will be an asset not only to this board, but to the people we help,” said Vicki McGee, executive director of Hope of the Grand Valley.
A nonprofit organization, Hope of the Grand Valley supports low-income families while promoting self-sufficiency. “All families receiving help from Hope of the Grand Valley must be fully employed and not receiving government assistance. We provide them with groceries and other necessities so they can continue to pay essential bills,” McGee said. “We also provide budget coaching, resume assistance and counseling.”
Stevens said she’s excited to serve on the board. “I believe strongly in their mission to help people who are already working hard to help themselves.”
Stevens has worked at Peterson Plumbing for 11 years and became part owner in 2014. She’s also a published author who wrote a self-help book titled “Just an Everyday Woman.”
