Mesa County Commissioner John Justman has been appointed to the Northwest Resource Advisory Council, a 15-member board that advises the U.S. Bureau of Land Management on public land issues in Northwest Colorado.
“I am honored to be selected for appointment to the Northwest Resource Advisory Council by the secretary of the interior. This appointment will allow me to better understand issues facing public lands and promote the voices of stakeholders here in Mesa County,” Justman said.
Justman will represent public land users on the council, which has assisted in the development of standards for livestock grazing and recreation guidelines.
Justman was elected in 2012. His family has operated a farm in Fruita for 40 years.
