Mesa County Commissioner Rose Pugliese has been elected chairwoman of the general government committee of Colorado Counties Inc.
Commissioners from more than 40 of the 64 counties in Colorado gathered in Denver for the CCI meeting to review proposed legislation and elect committee officers.
“I am honored to receive the confidence of my fellow commissioners to serve as chair of CCI’s general government steering committee,” Pugliese said. “It is important to effectively communicate the positions of our diverse counties to the Legislature and insure that rural and Western Slope counties have a strong voice in legislative issues.
A nonprofit membership association, CCI offers assistance to county commissioners, mayors and council members and encourages counties to work together on common issues.
