Two doctors, two philanthropists and a construction company were honored as community heroes during an annual benefit ball staged by St. Mary’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center in Grand Junction.
“We are proud to recognize these community heroes who have made such a significant difference in the health care of the Grand Valley community,” said Michael McBride, president and chief executive officer of St. Mary’s. “These individuals are truly heroes without capes.”
Dr. Steven Gardner, an anesthesiologist who’s practiced at St. Mary’s for 35 years, was honored as the Physician of the Year.
Dr. Charles Roy, a urologist who’s worked to expand local urological services as well as open the in-patience hospice facility at HopeWest, received the Saccomanno Lifetime Achievement Award.
Terry and Ed Armstrong were honored as the Philanthropists of the Year. The two have been giving back to the community for more than 30 years.
FCI Constructors received the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award. “Philanthropic support and community engagement are fundamental to FCI’s corporate culture,” said Ed Forsman, president of FCI.
