Edward Jones, Eide Bailly, Federal Express and U.S. Bank are among the businesses with Grand Valley operations that rank among the best workplaces in annual listing compiled by a Denver newspaper.
The four companies all appear in the 2014 Top Workplaces in Colorado list published in the Denver Post.
Edward Jones, a financial services company, ranks first among 25 large companies on the list, while U.S. Bank ranks 19th and Federal Express 21st.
Eide Bailly, a certified public accounting firm, ranks 19th among small firms on the list.
The list is based on the results of employee surveys conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, a firm that researches organizational health and employee engagement.
To qualify for the list, companies must have at least 50 employees in Colorado.
Edward Jones operates 288 offices and employs more than 600 people in Colorado. Edward Jones financial advisers operate 13 offices in the Grand Valley.
U.S. Bank operates 158 branches and employs more than 2,600 people in the state, including four locations in the Grand Valley.

Federal Express, the transportation and business services corporation with global operations,employs 4,000 people in the region.
Eide Bailey, an accounting firm headquartered in North Dakota, operates a total of 22 service centers in 10 states, including one in Grand Junction. The company employs 133 people in Colorado.
