Company to host appreciation night for former atomic workers

A company that provides in-home health care services to uranium and nuclear weapons production workers has scheduled an event at an upcoming Grand Junction Rockies baseball game.

Nuclear Care Partners will host its third annual Former Atomic Worker Appreciation Night during a game scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 2 at Suplizio Field.

“This event is just one way to show these amazing men and women how much we care and truly appreciate them,” said Lori Shanks, community outreach manager at Nuclear Care Partners. “It will be a really great night for these former workers filled with celebration, prizes and lots of fun.”

A Nuclear Care Partners patient will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and a fireworks display is planned for after the game. Participants also will receive food, giveaways and special recognition.

Former atomic workers should call 361-3405 to register and receive their free tickets to the game.
