Duncan McArthur, a member of the Grand Junction City Council, has been appointed to the National League of Cities Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee for 2016.
The committee helps develop policy positions on a wide range of issues, including those involving air and water quality, energy, wetlands and waste management.
“I do not think there is another committee with the National League of Cities that more directly impacts the issues that are important to the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County,” McArthur said. “As the only representative from Western Colorado on the committee, I’m honored to be appointed to this committee and intend to work hard to represent not only the City of Grand Junction, but the entire Western Slope.”
The National League of Cities serves as a resource and advocate for a total of 19,000 cities, towns and villages across the United States.
