Registration is under way for an annual event exploring ways to promote the creative industries in Colorado.
The Creative Industries Summit is set for May 5 and 6 at the Gathering Center at the Orchard in Carbondale. A discounted fee of $135 is available to those who register before March 23. To register or obtain more information, log on to www.coloradocreativeindustries.org/summit.
The summit will feature a total of more than 30 national and local speakers and panelists, including business experts, community development specialists and artists. Christopher Breedlove, executive director of Burners Without Borders, will deliver the keynote address on community approaches to disaster relief and grassroots initiatives that make a difference.
Sessions will address such topics as starting creative businesses and making marketing videos. The summit also will feature arts and creative organizations in Carbondale and include an art walk.
The summit will conclude with the Governor’s Creative Leadership Awards Luncheon recognizing individuals and organizations for their contributions to the creative industries sector.
