Crossroads challenge nets nearly 30 million steps

Participants in a challenge organized by Crossroads Fitness in Grand Junction logged a total of nearly 30 million steps over a seven-day period.

Almost 600 participants pledged to walk 70,000 steps in seven days. Participants received pedometers, passes and t-shirts. They also could attend walking events and seminars. Participants who completed the challenge were entered into a drawing for prizes. Proceeds from the challenge went to the Western Slope Girls on the Run.

Participants logged a total of 29,752,222 steps, above the 25 million goal for the challenge. Primary Care Partners in Grand Junction logged the most steps for a single business at more than 5 million.

Crossroads Fitness partnered with local businesses that sponsored the challenge, including Action Publishing; All Metals Welding: Alpine Bank; Daily Sentinel; Dalby, Wendland & Co.; Gallgaher’s Flooring, Hilltop Community Resources, Lewis Agency, Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Shaw Construction and the Vault 100.7.
