Staff from Lybrook Dental Center in Fruita will once again join in a national observance promoting good dental hygiene habits in children.
Staff are scheduled to visit second grade students at Appleton, Rimrock and Shelledy elementary schools in Fruita on March 1 as part of the American Dental Association National Children’s Oral Health Month.
“We need to instill the importance of dental health into our kids at a young age,” said Carol Lybrook, a dentist at Lybrook Dental Center. “Poor oral health now could lead to dental damage decades later.”
According to a study conducted by the American Dental Association, children missed a total of more than 51 million school hours because of dental-related illnesses.
“We want to get kids excited about taking good care of their teeth and gums,” Lybrook said. “Our goal is to make it hands-on and fun, so the good habits they create now will be carried with them through adulthood.”
Lybrook Dental Center is located at 551 Kokopelli Blvd., Suite A. For more information, call 858-9511 or visit the website located at www.lybrookdental.com.
