A celebration of the Colorado wine industry planned for Denver has been postponed a year.
The Colorado Mountain Winefest, an annual event for 19 years in Palisade, initially was scheduled for a second venue in Denver in June, but has been postponed until 2012.
“We were excited to get the Denver Winefest event off the ground in 2011. But due to the current economic climate, we’ve decided to postpone the event for another year,” said Sarah Catlin, executive director of the Colorado Mountain Winefest.
“In the meantime, we are concentrating on the 20th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade, and it is expected to be spectacular,” Catlin said.
In addition to showcasing the Colorado wine industry, the Winefest serves as a fund-raiser for the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology, a trade organization of grape growers and winemakers.
