One of the largest fashion retailers in the United States plans to open a location at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.
A newly constructed Dillard’s will open at a site formerly occupied by Sears.
“Mesa Mall is excited to expand its lineup of first-in-market retailers with the addition of Dillard’s,” said Paul Peterson, general manager of the mall.
Dillard’s operates a total of 265 locations and 27 clearance centers in 29 states in addition to an internet store. Annual sales for the company exceed $6.2 billion.
In addition to fashions, Dillard’s stores sells cosmetics and home furnishings with a broad selection of national and exclusive brands.
Lou Conforti, chief executive officer and director of Washington Prime Group, a real estate investment trust that owns Mesa Mall, hailed the addition. “I have previously espoused the virtues of Dillard’s as a consummate merchandiser for the simple reason they understand and, as importantly, respect the demographic constituencies which they serve. We expect more of the same as they open a new store at Mesa Mall.”
Conforti said 24 Dillard’s stores are located in malls owned by the Washington Prime Group. “We appreciate their continued partnership with us as we continue to transform our assets into dominant town centers which capture robust catchments.”
Located at 2424 U.S. Highway 6 & 50, Mesa Mall offers a total of more than 90 retail, dining and entertainment options. For more information, call 242-0009 or visit www.shopmesamall.com.
