Ground work has begun for a new Wells Fargo Bank branch at 1211 Wellington Ave., just south of the City Market grocery store at 12th Street and Patterson Road.
Wells Fargo plans to build a 4,755-square-foot structure, according to a Mesa County building permit that was issued Feb. 3.
The property is owned by Sessions Holdings LLC, which also owns the adjoining property directly to the south at 1201 Wellington Ave., where Jersey Mike’s Subs, MOD Pizza and HOTWORX fitness studio reside.
According to the Mesa County Assessor’s website, Sessions Holdings LLC purchased the 1211 Wellington Ave. property from Twelfth Wellington Cache LLC for $3.7 million on June 11.
The building permit’s Description of Work Planned says: “New ground up bank building and site work.” The owner/tenant listed is Wells Fargo. The project valuation is listed at $388,056. The architect/engineer is listed as SGDesign Inc.
The Business Times requested an interview with Wells Fargo, which declined to comment at this time.
Wells Fargo has a branch at 2808 North Ave., where the four-story building is listed for sale. That property is owned by United Bank of Grand Junction NA c/o Wells Fargo Bank and Deloitte Tax LLP.
