District 51 superintendent gets longer contract

The Mesa County School District 51 Board of Education has extended the contract of Superintendent Brian Hill.

The board voted to extend Hill’s contract an additional five years through June 2030. Hill assumed the role of superintendent in 2022.

“Extending his employment contract is not just a decision, but a declaration of confidence in a future defined by excellence, innovation and continued educational success for our community,” said Andrea Haitz, president of the school board.

Hill said he was grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the school district. “Despite the challenges we have faced as a district, I am proud of the work we have accomplished, and I am committed to serving our district as we continue to work through these challenges for a better D51.”
