Donations sought for annual pet food drive

Donations will be accepted through Nov. 9 for an annual pet food drive organized by the Tiara Rado Animal Hospital in Grand Junction.

“We host this pet food drive to ensure that pets in need in our community have food going into the winter months,” said Caylie McClure, hospital director.

Collections from the drive go to the Community Food Bank, which in turn provides a three-day supply of emergency pet food to residents with pets.

“For several years, we’ve been able to feed pets for almost a year thanks to the huge gifts from the Tiara Rado’s pet food drive,” said Marsha Kosteva, director of the food bank.

Since 2014, the drive has collected 6,550 pounds of food and $3,200 in cash.

People can drop off pet food, cash or checks made payable to the Community Food Bank at the Tiara Rado Animal Hospital located at 2245 3/4 Broadway between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays.

Since 1980, Tiara Rado Animal Hospital has provided a range of veterinary services, specializing in the care of dogs and cats. For more information, visit
