Downtown bookstore plans author presentations

A series of free presentations featuring local authors is scheduled to begin June 21 at Crystal Books and Gifts in downtown Grand Junction.

“Off the Shelf” presentations are set for 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays at the store — located at 439 Main St. — in conjunction with the weekly downtown farmers’ market.

The June 21 presentation will feature Helen Sperber, who will read excerpts from her novel “The Blue Wildebeest” and introduce her first book of poetry, titled “Paper Days and Years.”

The June 28 presentation will feature Jodi Gallegos, author of  the novel “A Shine that Defies the Dark.”
