Downtown bookstore schedules events

A series of free presentations with local authors is scheduled to continue at Crystal Books and Gifts in downtown Grand Junction.

The next Off the Shelf event is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 14 at the store, 439 Main St., and will feature Adrianne Wagner.

Wagner will discuss her book “Creative Chameleon Finds Acceptance,” a story for gender self-identifying children that encourages them to love and accept themselves and others regardless of their differences.

Wagner also has written a series of books to help children and adults dealing with illness and death.

Wagner has worked in the mental health field since 1998 and specializes in helping people facing grief and crises. She holds a master’s degree in community counseling and designation as a Nationally Certified Counselor. Wagner owns Bloom Counseling Services and also works part-time for the HopeWest hospice and palliative care organization in Grand Junction.
