Charmed by Heirlooms — a boutique featuring used wares fashioned into accessories, furniture and home decor — has scheduled a grand opening celebration for 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 18 at the store, 635 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction.
The store features recycled and repurposed items crafted by local volunteers, said Wendy Hayduk, director of retail and design. “When others may see flaws, we see opportunity — headboards turn into benches, silk shirts into beautiful scarves, broken jewelry into unique pieces that you’ll only find in our store.”
Charmed by Heirlooms is also the only retailer between Denver and Salt Lake City to sell Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan, and offers weekly classes on Annie Sloan painting techniques.
The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and evenings during the farmers’ markets downtown. Proceeds from sales benefit HopeWest, an organization that offers hospice, palliative care and grief support services across the Western Slope.
