Triple Play Records in downtown Grand Junction will celebrate Record Store Day with promotional giveaways, limited releases and a battle of the bands.
The celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 18 at the store, located at 530 Main St.
“Record Store Day is really a blessing,” said Rock Cesario, owner and operator of Triple Play Records. “What it did was open people’s eyes to the difference in customer service between chains and what mom and pop stores offer.”
In operation for more than 26 years, Triple Play Records is one of the oldest record stores in Colorado.
The battle of the bands will pit up to 30 bands performing during 15-minute spots. Winners will be guaranteed paid performances during the upcoming Downtown Farmers Market.
