A Grand Junction business has scheduled two summer camps designed to help students prevent loss of learning over the break.
Essentials In Learning will offer an advanced algebra and trigonometry camp from 9 a.m. to noon July 13 to 16. Admission is $400.
A self-management skills camp is set for 9 a.m. to noon July 20 and 21 and again July 23 and 24. Admission is $300.
The algebra and trigonometry camp is designed for high school students taking calculus during the upcoming school year, including advanced placement calculus.
The self-management skills camp will help students ages 13 to 18 focus their attention, manage time, organize school work and set goals while also developing social skills and learning to control their technology tools.
Research has shown students score lower on tests at the end of summer breaks than they do at the beginning.
Located in the Business Incubator Center at 2591 Legacy Way, Essentials for Learning offers a range of services designed to promote the educational success and personal growth of students, including academic coaching, specialized tutoring and family advocacy. The staff offers a combined 80 years of teaching experience.
