Jim Roland, a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Grand Junction, was among those selected by the company to meet with lawmakers in Washington to advocate on behalf of individual investors.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to communicate the concerns of individual investors, especially those here in Grand Junction, and make sure they are heard on Capitol Hill,” Roland said.
Roland serves on an Edward Jones task force that voices the concerns of individual investors to local, state and national lawmakers. In Washington, Roland discussed efforts to preserve and expand the ability of investors to contribute to retirement as well as incentives for small business owners to create retirement plans for their employees.
“Edward Jones is dedicated to understanding the needs of our clients and partnering with them to achieve their long-term financial goals. That is why we believe more can be done through Congress to allow investors to save for a more secure retirement,” he said.
More than 17,000 financial advisors provide services through Edward Jones branch offices throughout the United States.
