A Grand Junction recycling company will accept computers, electronics and appliances during a free dropoff event scheduled for April 21 as part of an Earth Day observance.
E-Waste Recyclers of Colorado has scheduled the event for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its facility at 655 N. First St. The firm operates out of a warehouse behind what was once Ashley Furniture.
The business will accept computers, cellular telephones, office equipment — virtually any device that plugs into an electric outlet or uses batteries, said Ken Burns, co-owner along with Jeffery Ferguson.
The business also will accept televisions and computer monitors with cathode ray tubes, but charges to dispose of those items. Prices range from $10 to $35.
E-Waste Recyclers of Colorado also will be open for dropoffs April 28 and 29 for the ShareFest event in which volunteers from different denominations and churches in the Grand Valley join in community service projects, including cleaning. Dropoffs will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 29.
In addition, the will serve as a sponsor the Mesa County Earth Day celebration set for May 6 and will set up a tent at the event.
