Quint Shear has been elected president and chairman of the board of the Western Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association, a Grand Junction-based trade group of energy producers, contractors and vendors.
“I am proud to lead an organization representing one of the largest business segments on the West Slope and one of the largest in Colorado,” Shear said. “I am proud of this industry and what it affords our community, state, country and world in terms of quality of life and modern living.”
Shear is president of Shear Inc. in Grand Junction and a member of a family with oil and natural gas properties throughout Western Colorado and other states. The family also has long been involved with ranching in the region. Shear enjoys outdoor recreation.
“With proper planning, energy and ranching and recreation can and should coexist, and this message is something I’ll bring to my tenure as president of the West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association,” he said.
Shear previously worked as a vice president with Bank of the West and vice president and chief financial officer of Western Rockies Federal Credit Union.
