Enstrom Candies in Grand Junction will resume its “I Pledge” ice cream promotion in July, joining in a nationwide effort to encourage patriotism among school age children.
From 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays through July, children ages 12 and under who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory will receive a free ice cream cone at Enstrom Candies locations.
“We feel this campaign is a positive way to celebrate National Ice Cream Month, which falls in July, as well as our nation’s Independence Day and the brave men and women who have fought for our country,” said Jamee Simons, owner of Enstrom Candies.
In the Grand Valley, Enstrom Candies operates retail locations at 701 Colorado Ave. and 120 E. Park Ave., No. 100, in Grand Junction as well as at 401 Kokopelli Blvd., No. 2, in Fruita.
