Entrants sought for benefit wiener dog races

Entry forms are available for the second annual Weinerschnitzel Wiener Dog Races.

The races are set for Aug. 8 as part of the Grand Junction Rockies baseball game at Suplizio Field. The game is set to start at
7 p.m. Dachsunds will race between innings.

Winners will receive more than $1,000 in prizes, including tickets to Colorado Rockies games in Denver as well as trophies and shirts. Proceeds from the benefit races will go to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society animal shelter in Grand Junction.

Entry forms, rules and other information are available from Wienerschnitzel locations at 2550 North Ave. and First Street and Grand Avenue in Grand Junction, the Fruita Co-op at 1650 U.S. Highway 6 & 50, 1440 N. Townsend in Montrose and the Wienerschnitzel Express at Shell located at 200 County Road 215 in Parachute.
