An entrepreneur has launched a Grand Junction-based marketing venture he expects to not only help businesses connect with their customers, but also stimulate the local economy.
“It’s about stimulating people to get out and stimulate the economy. It’s about encouraging people to get out and enjoy the quality of life,” said Bob Rubin, who has launched a Western Colorado edition of the Coupon Cart magazine.
Rubin relocated to Grand Junction to live closer to his daughter, who’s attending Colorado Mesa University. He also decided to start a local operation of the coupon magazine for which he sold advertising in New York.
Rubin expects to mail the premiere issue of Coupon Cart in late February to 40,000 households in the region. Publications will follow every eight weeks, he said.
Direct mail and coupons offers businesses an opportunity to connect with customers for pennies per household as well as a way to track the return on that investment, he said. The magazine will include coupons, discounts and other types of incentives not only from restaurants, but also home, personal and professional services businesses, he said.
Rubin said he has joined the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce and plans to promote the Blue Band Wagon buy local campaign.
