Entries will be accepted through Jan. 3 for a competition to select artwork for the 2020 Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade.
The competition is open to Colorado artists regardless of where they live in the state. Entries should represent the Colorado wine industry.
The winning artwork will be selected by the public through online voting.
The Blue Pig Gallery located at 101 W. Third St. in Palisade has scheduled an opening reception for participating artists from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan 31. The winner will be announced during the reception.
The Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology, a trade group for grape growers and winemakers which hosts the Colorado Mountain Winefest as a fund-raiser, will award a $700 cash prize to the winning artist.
The winner also will receive national publicity and promotion in becoming the official commemorative poster artist of the 29th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest.
The winning artwork will be featured on posters, t-shirts, wine totes and brochures as well as in national print and digital advertising.
The 2020 Colorado Mountain Winefest is planned for Sept. 17 to 20. Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale Dec. 2.
