A museum featuring exotic animals in natural habitats is scheduled to open this fall in the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction.
The Children’s Nature Center will be located near Boot Barn in the Sears Wing of the mall, located at 2424 U.S. Highway 6 & 50.
“Mesa Mall is honored to welcome the Children’s Nature Center for families to experience and observe animals up close,” said Paul Petersen, general manager at Mesa Mall. “This unique addition will enhance our offerings and furthers Mesa Mall as the area’s leading place to shop, dine and spend time together.”
The Children’s Nature Center will offer exhibits designed to educate guests about animals, wildlife and the environment. Families can discover more than 150 creatures in saltwater and freshwater habitats and coral tanks, plus a collection of snakes, reptiles and amphibians. The Children’s Nature Center will also offer guided tours, birthday celebration packages and school field trip opportunities.
“Children’s Nature Center is excited to join Mesa Mall and help kids create lasting memories,” said Janet Gardner, executive director at Children’s Nature Center. “This new location will give us the opportunity to teach even more children about the wonders of nature and fulfill our mission to educate guests on animals, wildlife and the environment.”
Mesa Mall includes a total of more than 100 retailers and restaurants, including such market-exclusive retailers as Herberger’s, JC Penney, Sears, Target and Victoria’s Secret.
