Errol Snider, chief operating officer and executive vice president of hospital services at Family Health West in Fruita, has announced his impending retirement.
Snider said he and his wife, Michele, who has directed the Oaks, an assisted-living facility operated by Family Health West, both will retire at the end of June. Errol Snider has worked at Family Health West for more 20 years, starting as director of the Family Health West Foundation and human resources.
Snider has served in a variety of other roles over the past 35 years, including pastor, school board member, county commissioner and city manager.
“Errol Snider is an icon here at FHW,” said Dennis Ficklin, president and chief executive officer of Family Health West. “In addition to being an exemplary leader, Errol has made the time to be acquainted with and concerned for every member of our team. He is consistently invited to conduct weddings or funerals and memorials because he is so well thought of and trusted. Life at Family Health West won’t be the same when Errol retires, and I personally will miss him greatly.”
Snider said, “I can say without any reservation that I have been privileged to work with a staff that understands the vision of Family Health West, people who value doing the ‘right thing’ not just ‘being right.’”
Over the course of his tenure at Family Health West, the nonprofit health organization has expanded, adding outpatient services and opening a full-service hospital.
“My pride and honor is in serving with the staff and volunteers to make a difference in this community,” Snider said. “This community, and especially Family Health West, have been family … and of course my best friend and confidant Dennis Ficklin.”
