Family Health West in Fruita has opened a medical facility to care for patients with wounds that won’t heal properly.
The new wound care center is located at 551 Kokopelli Blvd., Suite G.
The center offer a variety of treatments for various types of wounds, including burns, diabetic ulcers, post-surgical wounds and traumatic wounds. Those therapies include electrical stimulation and ultrasound.
“The would care center’s therapies have proven results that reduce healing time by more than 50 percent,” said Dr. Fred Barbero, a member of the wound care team and medical staff director at Family Health West. The wound care team also includes Dr. Diane Dill, Val Herrera and Trudy Hoffman.
“The goal of the Family Health West wound care center is to provide a much-needed service to our community that is professional, convenient and staffed with the professionals who are dedicated to learning and applying the best in health care service,” said Mark Francis, president and chief executive officer of Family Health West.
A nonprofit health care organization, Family Health West also operates a hospital, assisted- and skilled-care living facilities and imaging and rehabilitation therapy centers.
