Western Valley Family Practice, a group of family medicine physicians, has joined Family Health West based in Fruita.

“We are excited to join the Family Health West family. We already provide vast and comprehensive services, and this union will just expand and provide more primary care, specialty care and cutting-edge treatments for thousands of existing and new patients,” said Dr. Kurtis Holmes, a physician who’s practiced with Western Family Practice since 1989. “Considering the shortage of primary care physicians in not only the Grand Valley, but nationwide, the timing couldn’t be better.”

Mark Francis, president and chief executive officer of Family Health West, said the addition constitutes another step toward carrying out the mission of the health care organization. “We have worked closely with Western Valley since the day they opened their doors in 1980, and we are thrilled to have them formally part of our family.”
