Famous Dave’s plans Veterans Day celebration

Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que in Grand Junction will offer free meals to former and active duty members of the military as part of a Veterans Day celebration Nov. 11.

“Honoring our local veterans is important to us,” said Monica Etcheverry, general manager of the restaurant. “This is just a small way for us to show our appreciation for those who have and are currently serving our nation. We recognize and honor our veterans for their selflessness, not just on Veterans Day, but throughout the year.”

Each veteran will receive a complimentary two-meat salute, which includes their choice of two meats in addition to a side dish, corn on the cob and corn bread muffin. Veterans must provide proof of service, such as a military identification or veterans organization card.

Famous Dave’s also offers a 15 percent discount to former and active members of the military each Monday at its Colorado locations. Located at 2440 U.S. Highway 6& 50 in Grand Junction, Famous Dave’s will be open on Veterans Day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
