The Business Times reported in its Sept. 9 edition that Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is looking at building a 2,821-square-foot, drive-through restaurant on the property where Famous Dave’s barbecue restaurant resides: 2440 U.S. Highway 6 & 50.

Now, we know what that means for Famous Dave’s, as it closed its doors permanently on Sept. 14. The Famous Dave’s website no longer lists Grand Junction among its Colorado locations. An online liquidation auction for the restaurant’s equipment, furnishings, decor and supplies is scheduled to conclude Sept. 23.

Two requests for an interview submitted online by The Business Times to BBQ Holdings Inc., the owner of the Famous Dave’s chain headquartered in Minnetonka, Minn., received no reply before this edition went to press.
