A total of nearly 30 restaurants, caterers and food vendors will showcase their fare during an annual fund-raising event for United Way of Mesa County.
The 12th annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at Two Rivers Convention Center, 159 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction.
Advance tickets sell for 13 for adults, $10 for seniors and students and $6 for children. Tickets are available from United Way of Mesa County, Home Loan State Bank, Enstrom Candies and City Market stores.
Blocks of 25 or more tickets are available from United Way for $10 for each ticket. Admission at the door will cost $5 more.
In addition to samples of food and beverages, Taste of the Grand Valley will feature cooking demonstrations by local chefs. Participants will vote on awards for exhibitors, including best soup, beverage, main dish and desert as well as best overall taste.
People who purchase an official Taste of the Valley culinary item will be entered in a drawing for prizes, including two VIP passes to Country Jam along with hotel accommodations and shuttle service. Restaurants will donate gift cards that can be purchased at half their value.
All proceeds from Taste of the Grand Valley will go to United Way of Mesa County and its support of local health and human services programs. United Way has raised about 75 percent of donations in latest campaign to raise $1.1 million.
